surah 71 Noah

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Verily, We sent Noah to his people saying, “Warn the people so that they will not

suffer a painful punishment.”

He told them, “Indeed, O my people, I am to you a clear warner.

Worship and fear God, and obey me.

Allah will forgive your sins, and delay your term for a set time.

Indeed, if you only knew that when the time comes set by Allah,

 it cannot be delayed otherwise.”

He said, “My Sovereign Lord, I have indeed invited people to the Truth,

both night and day.

But, my invitation only caused them to run away.

And, indeed, every time that I invited them to God’s forgiveness,

they put their fingers in their ears, refusing to listen or look by

covering their faces with their clothes,

and were very stubborn.

Then, I publicly invited them to the Truth.

Then, I told them and secretly confided in them,

saying that, “If you ask forgiveness from God,

                                      indeed, He is the Most Forgiving.        

He will descend rain from the sky upon you in an unrelenting shower.

And, He will give you prosperity and progeny,

and provide for you gardens and rivers.

Why is it that you do not acknowledge God with proper respect,

when He created you all in stages?

Do you not know that God created the Seven Heavens in layers,

one upon the other,

and made the moon a reflective light, and the sun a burning lamp?

And, God has helped you to grow food and crops on the earth as sustenance for you.

And, to the earth you will be returned until the Day of Resurrection,

when people will be extracted from their graves for Judgment.

And, God created the expansive earth for you,

that you might find roads of passage.”

Noah said, “My Sovereign Lord, they have indeed disobeyed me,

and they are following someone else whose wealth and children

will not avail them, except in loss.”

And, they plotted an immense conspiracy.

They said, “Never leave your gods, or your idols.”

And, they have already misled many people. 

And, Noah said, “My Lord, do not increase the

the wrongdoers, except for in error.”

Because of their sins they have drowned, and were put into Hellfire.

And, they did not find any helpers to help them besides God.

And Noah said, “Do not leave any of the DisBelievers to inhabit the earth.

Indeed, if you leave them here, they will lead Your Servants astray,

and give birth to wicked children, confirmed DisBelievers.

My Sovereign Lord, forgive me and my parents,

and whosoever enters my house as a Believer,

as well as all the Believing men and women.

And, do not provide anything to the DisBelievers but ruin.”
