(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)
All that is in the Heavens and the earth exalts Allah,
and He is the Most Exalted Sovereign in Might,
the Most Knowledgeable.
It was God who cast out the DisBelievers from the People of the Scripture
from their homes for the very first time.
You might not think that they would leave their homes, and they
themselves thought that the castles they built would save them
from the wrath of God.
But, God’s Decree descended upon them from places they knew not,
and He cast terror in their hearts as He did so,
and the cast out people destroyed their own dwellings
with their own hands, and the hands of the Believers.
So heed the warning of this, O you people of vision.
And, if God had not decreed this evacuation,
they would have been punished in this world.
And, for the DisBelievers is also the punishment of Hellfire.
This is because they were in opposition to God,
and His Messenger.
And, whoever is in opposition to God,
indeed, God is severe in punishment.
Whatever you have destroyed of their palm trees,
or have left a stump remaining,
it was by God’s leave,
and so it was that He shamed the defiantly noncompliant.
And, whatever Allah restored of the property to His Messenger from them,
was restored through peaceful means.
But, God gives His Messengers authority over whom He wills,
and He is over all things, the Most Competent.
And, what God restored to His Messenger from the townspeople,
it was for the Messenger, and his near relatives, orphans,
and the stranded wayfarer, so that it would not be a continuing allotment
from amongst the rich from you.
And, whatever the Messenger has given to you, kindly take of it.
And, what he has forbidden for you, kindly refrain from it.
And, fear God, for indeed, He is severe in punishment.
As for the Believing indigent refugees,
who were taken from their homes and land because they
sought Allah and His approval,
and Believed in Him, and upheld the Messenger,
there is also a share for them.
Those are people of Truth as well,
as were the people of Medina, and those who accepted Faith before them.
They loved the people who came there,
and while they were not of wont of the property,
they gave them preference even over themselves,
although they were in a state of poverty.
And, whoever refrains from the stinginess of one’s own soul –
it is they who will be successful in life.
And, there is also a share for those who came after them,
saying, “Our Sovereign Lord, forgive us and
our brethren before us, and do not place in our hearts
any anger towards those who have Believed in God.
Our Sovereign Lord, You are the Most Kind and Most Merciful.”
Have you not thought about those who are insincere in their Faith,
who say to their DisBelieving brethren,
“If you are cast out, we will surely go with you.
And, we will not obey Him or anyone – ever;
and if you are embattled, we will surely help you.”
But, God Knows that they are liars.
If they are cast out, they will not go with them;
and if they are embattled, they cannot aid them.
And, even if they should reach them, they will turn their backs on them;
and thereafter will not be helped again.
You Believers are fearful in your hearts, but God is not.
This is because they are people who do not comprehend.
They will not cause you to battle you except behind reinforced fortressses,
and behind closed walls.
Their hatred among themselves is quite severe.
You think they are all joined together, but their hearts are divided.
That is because they are a people without good sense.
Their example is like the one before them:
they tasted the bad outcome of their situation,
and they will have a painful punishment in the Hereafter.
The ones who are insincere in Faith are akin to Satan,
when he says to mankind, “DisBelieve.”
And, when they do DisBelieve, He says, “I know nothing of you.
Indeed, I fear God, the Sovereign Lord of all the Worlds.”
So, the end result will be the same for both of them.
They will be in Hellfire to abide therein eternally.
And, that is the reward for those who do evil.
All you who Believe, fear God. And, let every soul look forward
to what it puts forth in life for tomorrow – and fear God.
Verily, God Knows and is acquainted with all that you do.
And, do not be like those who do not remember Allah,
less He make you forget yourselves.
Those are the rebellious wayward ones.
The Companions of Paradise and the Companions of Hellfire are not equal.
The Companions of Paradise are those who have attained the ultimate triumph.
And, if We descended down the Qur’an to a mountain,
it would be humbled, and it would crumble apart in fear of Allah.
And, these cases in point We present to mankind so that they will pay heed.
He is God, other than whom there is no other deity,
He Knows all the Unseen and the Seen,
and he is the Most Wholly Merciful,
the Most Exceptionally Merciful.
He is God, other than whom there is no other deity,
the Sovereign in Might,
the Most Pure,
free from any and all imperfection,
The Imparter of Faith,
who watches and governs over all creation,
the Most Exalted in Strength,
the Most Forceful,
the Most High.
Exalted high is God, above all they may associate with Him.
He is God, the Creator,
the Originator,
the one who made us,
and to Him belong the most finest of all names.
All that is in the Heavens and the earth exalt and give praise to Him.
And, He is the Most Sovereign in Might, the Most Wise.
