surah 57 iron ore

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

 

All that is in the Heavens and the earth exalts and give praise to God,

and He is the Most Exalted in Might,

the Most Wise.

His is all the Power of the Heavens and the earth.

God bestows life and brings about death,

and He is over all things Capable.

He is the Originator, and Ultimate Inheritor of all creation.

Nothing is above Him.

He possesses the most intimate Knowledge

of the grand order of all things,

for He is the All Knowing.

It is He who created the Heavens and the earth in six days,

then established Himself on the Throne of Supreme Authority.

He knows what descends into the earth,

and what surfaces from it,

and what comes down from the heavens, and what goes up to it.

And, He is together with you wherever you may be.

And, God is the All Seeing of what you do in life.

His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth.

And, to God are all things returned.

He causes the night to penetrate the day,

and makes the day to penetrate the night,

and He Knows all that is in the hearts of Mankind.

Believe in God and His Messenger,

and give of the sustenance He has provided to you.

For those of you who Believe, give in ways pleasing to Him,

and there will be a great reward in Paradise.

And, if you are truly Believers, why don’t you Believe in God

 when His Messenger invited you to Believe?

And, He has accepted your promise of Belief.

It is He who descended to His Servant, the Prophet Muhammad,

verses with Clear Proof so that He may bring you

out of the Darkness into the Light. 

And, indeed, God is to you the Most

Merciful and Kind.

And, why do you not spend in charity of the sustenance He provides to you

when to Him belongs the inheritance of all the Heavens and the earth?

Those who do not Believe, and those who Believe are not equal.

Those who Believe are of higher merit, and are promised the highest reward.

And, God is well acquainted with all you do in life.

Who would give to God an attractive loan asking him to multiply it for him,

so that he could have a reward in the Hereafter?

On the Day of Resurrection, you will see the Believers,

their Light descending upon you as you see them,

and because their good deeds far outweighed their bad in life,

it will be said to them, “Your blessing today will be Gardens of Paradise

beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally therein.”

This is the greatest attainment.

On the same Day, the imposters will say to the Believers,

“Wait for us so that we may share some of the Light.”

It will be said to them, “Go back yourselves and search for the Light.”

And, a wall will be resurrected between the Believers and the Imposters,

the interior of which will possess Mercy,

and on the outside there will be nothing but destruction.

The imposters will call out to the Believers, saying, “Weren’t we with you?”

They will reply, “Yes, but you afflicted this on yourselves.

You wished for misfortune upon us, and doubted God’s Word.

You deluded yourselves away from the Truth until this Day came.

And, Satan turned you away from God.

So, on this Day, no consideration will be accepted from you,

 nor from those who DisBelieved in God.

Your final refuge is Hellfire.  It is most suitable for you,

but what a horrible destination."

Hasn’t the time come when the Believers' hearts

 should become respectfully submissive to the remembrance of God,

and what has been descended to you in Truth?

And, don’t let them be like the people of the Scripture before,

whose hearts were hardened by the passage of time,

and some of them became defiantly rebellious.

Know that God gives life to the earth after it was without life.

We have given to you Clear Signs, so that you might Believe.

Indeed, the Believers who practice regular charity,

and give to Allah a pleasant loan,

those amounts will be multiplied back to them,

and they will have a Righteous reward.

And, those who have Believed in God, and His Messengers,

they will be placed with the followers of the Truth,

along with the martyrs, with their Sovereign Lord.

For them, is their ultimate reward in Paradise and Light.

But, those who have DisBelieved, and rejected our Verses,

they will be the Companions of Hellfire.

Understand that this life is but to keep you happily occupied,

to keep your mind off more serious things,

to add ornamentation to that which He created,

 emphasizing your own possessions and accomplishments –

like the example of rain whose plant growth pleases the farmer,

which then turns yellow; then later becomes dispersed in the wind.

And, in the Hereafter there is either severe punishment, or

forgiveness and Mercy from Allah.

And, this worldly life is nothing but the pleasure of delusion.

Try better than others in seeking forgiveness from your Sovereign Lord.

There are Gardens as wide as the heavens and the earth put together,

prepared for those who Believe in God and His Messengers.

This is the generosity of Allah which He gives to whom He wills,

and God possesses the Most Plentiful Bounty.

No calamity will strike upon the earth, nor among yourselves,

except for as decreed before We bring it into existence –

indeed, for God it is not difficult.

Do not despair over what escaped you in this life,

nor gloat over what He has given you in life,

for Allah does not incline toward people who are arrogant and self-deluded-

those who are ungenerous, and enjoin others to be likewise.

And, whoever turns away from him and does not spend in charity, if able to,

indeed, God is free of all need of them. 

And, He is the Most Praiseworthy.

We previously communicated a Message with  Our Messengers with Clear Proof,

and descended the Scripture,

and created harmony so that people may administer their affairs with justice.

And, We gave you iron ore from the earth,

wherein there is military prowess, as well as benefit for the people,

so that God may determine who follows Him and His Messengers sight unseen.

Indeed, God is the Most Powerful, and Most Exalted in Might.

And, We communicated to Noah, and Abrahim,

and gave their descendants prophethood and the Word of God.

And, some of them were Guided, but many are perversely rebellious.

And, in their footsteps We sent Jesus, the son of Mary,

and communicated the Gospel.

And, in the hearts of those who followed him,

We gave them compassion and Mercy.

And, they were the first to take the way of life characteristic of a monastery.

We did not force them to do so, but they did it seeking the approval of God.

But, they did not give careful performance

 of their religious rights with due diligence.

So, We gave those who Believed in God their just reward,

but many of them are perversely rebellious.

All you who Believe, Believe in God and pay heed to His Messenger;

He will give you twice as much Mercy,

and make you a Light to walk by,

and He will forgive you.

For, Allah is the Most Merciful, the Most Forgiving.

This is so that the People of the Scripture may understand that as long

as they refuse to Believe in God and pay heed to His Messenger,

that they will have nothing from the Bounty of God.

And, all Bounty is under God’s command, and He gives it to whom He Wills.

And, God possesses the Greatest of Bounties.
