surah 48 the surrender

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Verily, O Muhammad, God has given to you a Clear surrender,

so that He may forgive you of your sins,

and what will come after,

and He will fulfill His Covenant,

and Guide you to the Right Path.

And, God will help you with this Mighty Triumph.

It is God alone who can descend peace into the hearts of mankind,

thereby increasing their Faith, along with the Faith they already possess.

And, to God belong the defending forces of the heavens and the earth,

and He is the All Knowing, the Most Wise.

And, the Believers He will welcome to the Gardens of Paradise,

with rivers flowing beneath,

to abide therein for all eternity.

And, Allah will forgive the Believers for their bad deeds,

and always in His Sight is this great reward.

And, God will punish those who say they Believe in Him but do not,

as well as those who say there is more than one God than Him –

those who say things about God that are evil in nature.

Upon them is the curse of bad fortune because God

has become furious with them, and has cursed them,

and has prepared for them Hellfire.  And, it is a horrible destination.

And, to God belongs the defending forces of the heavens and the earth.

And, God is always the Most Exalted, the Most High.

Verily, We have sent you, O Muhammad,

as a witness, a bearer of good tidings,

and a warner for mankind,

so that you may Believe and honor God and His Messenger,

and give due respect,

and exalt and give praise to Allah in the morning and afternoon.

Indeed, those who promise to Believe –

they are promising to Believe in Allah.

And, God accepts one’s sincere promises of Belief.

So, the person who breaks this promise, only breaks it to his own detriment.

And, he who sincerely fulfills that of what he promised God –

He will receive a great reward.

Those of the desert people who remain behind may say to you,

“We’re really busy with our properties and things, so can you ask forgiveness for us?”

They are asking for forgiveness, but it is not felt in their hearts.

Say to them, “Then who will defend you from God.

if He intended for you harm, or even if intended assistance for you?

Rather, it is God who is acquainted with all you do.

You thought the Believers and the Messenger would never come home,

never, and that was pleasing to you in your hearts.

You have thought something evil, and you are a lost people.”

And, whoever does not Believe in God and His Messenger –

then, indeed, the Fiery Blaze has been prepared for them.

And, to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth.

He will forgive whom He Wills.

And, He is the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Those who wish to stay behind, will say to you,

“We really intended to follow you.”

They want to change God’s judgment of them.

Say to them, “Never will you be a Believer.  Thus, did God say this before.”

They may reply, “You are just jealous of our position and our wealth.”

But, in actuality, they do not understand, barely a little.

Say to the DisBelieving desert people who remained,

“You will be called to face a legion of Believers of great strength;

you may oppose them, or submit to them in Islam.

So, if you Believe in God, you will be given a great reward.

However, if you turn away from God, as you did before,

He will punish you with a painful punishment.”

There is no blame if a blind person, a lame person, or

if the sick remain behind.

And, whoever follows God and His Messenger –

He will welcome them to Gardens beneath which rivers flow;

but, whoever turns away from Him – He

will punish them with a terrible punishment.

Certainly, God was pleased when the Believers listened to you,

O Muhammad, beneath the tree, and He Knew what was in their hearts,

so He descended peace upon them,

and rewarded them with an impending surrender.

And, much good fortune did they receive.

And, God is always the Most Exalted in Strength, the Most Wise.

God has promised you treasures in the future as well,

and has hastened this triumph for you,

and kept you from the grip of your enemy as a Sign for the Believers,

so He may Guide you to the Right Path.

And, He has promised and prepared for you many other triumphs

that you so far have not been able to realize for yourself.

And, God is over all things, the Most Proficient.

And, if the DisBelievers decided to fight you, they would turn back in flight.

And, the DisBelievers will not find a protector, nor helper.

This is the established pattern of how God dealt with the DisBelievers before.

And, never will you find any amendment on how God deals with DisBelievers.

And, it was God who held their hands back from harming you,

and you from harming them, within the area of Makkah

after He caused you to triumph over them.

And, God is always seeing of what you do.

They are the ones who DisBelieved and kept you from the feeding of the needy

at al-Masjid al-Haram.

And, if it had not been for the unknown Believing brothers and sisters,

the DisBelievers might have trampled the sacrificial food you prepared,

and it might cause you dishonor because of their actions without your knowledge.

God accepts to His Mercy whom He wills.

He will punish those who DisBelieve among them with a painful punishment

Those who DisBelieved, and whose hearts are filled with prejudice,

the prejudice of the time due to lack of knowledge.

But, God descended His Peace upon His Servant and the Believers,

and Revealed His Righteous Word.

And, they were deserving of it, and worthy of it.

And, God always Knows all things.

And, God gave His Servant the vision of Truth.

You will safely enter the al-Masjid al-Haram if it is God’s Will,

with your hair cut and shaved, not fearing anyone.

God Knew what you did not, and has pre-arranged an impending surrender.

It is God who gave His Servant Guidance,

and the religion of Truth to be apparent over all religions.

And, God is ample enough as a Witness.

Muhammad is the Messenger of God;

and those with him are stalwart against the DisBelievers,

and merciful among themselves.

You see them bowing and worshipping in prayer,

seeking to please God and asking to receive His blessing.

The description in the Torah is that of a mark on their forehead from praying.

And, the description in the Gospel is that of a plant producing growth,

strengthening them so they grow strong and tall, delighting their growers.

So that God may upset those who do not Believe in Him,

God has promised those who Believe,

and do Righteous good deeds,

Forgiveness and an immense reward in the Gardens of Paradise.
