surah 43 gold and silver

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

 

Ha, Meem.

By the Clear and Noble Qur’an,

We most assuredly versed it in your language, so that you might Understand it.

And, it is the Matriarch of all Books with Us,

exalted high above all others, and full of great wisdom.

Because you are a sinful people, should We turn you away from the Message?

And, how many prophets did We send to you before him?

And, not a prophet did come, but that was ridiculed.

And, We destroyed the DisBelieving civilizations with great striking force,

and the examples of the prior lost civilizations paved the way.

And, if you ask the people who Believe in God, but also attribute Christ as Lord,

 “Who made the Heavens and the earth?”

they would most likely reply,

“They were created by God, the Most Exalted in Power,

 the Most Wise.”

The One who prepared the earth as a resting place for you,

and gave to you paths so that you might be Guided.

He descends periodic rain from the skies, reviving barren land,

as you were once brought forth.

And, it is He who fashioned all the species of animals,

and provided ships and mounts for you to ride upon with ease,

And, remember the blessings of your Sovereign Lord God,

when you are upon them, and say,

 “Exalted above all is He for helping us to tame this animal,

otherwise, we would not be able to befriend it.

And, certainly, we will return to our Sovereign Lord in the end.”

But, these same people, while they Believe in God,

claim that God has a son, or that some other deity is as exalted as God.

Indeed, God is exalted above having physical attributes, and neither begets nor is born. 

Yet, some of mankind is still unthankful to Him.

Or, do you really think that He takes out of what He created daughters or sons?

And, give the Most Merciful good thanks for the things He created,

such as a child, less you be among the UnGrateful,

like a face without Light, holding back grief in the End.

His creations are tributes to Allah, like golden ornaments.

And, there are angels who are Servants to Allah, the Most Merciful.

Did they observe their creation?

The angels’ testimony will be recorded and preserved, and they will testify.

And, the polytheists may say, “If the Most Merciful so willed,

we would not have worshipped the others we held equal to God.”

They have no knowledge of this, only the Sovereign Lord God does. 

They are only making excuses.

Or, have We provided a Book before the Qur’an that they are following?

Instead, they say, “Indeed, we are following the religion of our forefathers,

and we are following what we think is the path they took.”

Each Messenger replies, “Even if I bring to you better Guidance

than that of your forefathers?”

They say, “We really don’t believe in what you were sent.”

So, God punished them,

and remember what was the end of the DisBelievers throughout history.

And, mention to them, O Muhammad, about Abrahim when he said to his father

and the people, “I am free from that which you worship,

except for the God who created me, and surely, He will Guide me to the Right Path.”

And, he made it a promise for him, and those who came after him,

so that they might always remember it.

And, God gave to the people of Makkah

 and the descendents of Abrahim, their just due,

until the Messenger came to them with the Truth,

and, when the Truth reach them, they turned away saying,

“This is about something unexplained, and we do not believe in it.”

And, further, they said, “Why wasn’t God’s Word descended down to

a powerful man from one of the two great cities?”

Do they themselves give of God’s Mercy?  It is We who gave to them their livelihood,

raising some above others, that they might serve one another in times of need.

But, God’s Mercy is greater than anything they accumulate in life.

And, if it weren’t for all of mankind coming together in the End,

We might have given to the DisBelievers all that they lusted for -

houses with stairways and ceilings made of silver upon which to climb,

And, their houses would have silver doors and silver couches to lie on.

And, decorations of pure gold.

But, all of that is just the enjoyment of the pleasures in this earthly life.

And, the Righteous will be with their Sovereign Lord God in the Hereafter.

And, whoever is unmindful, and does not remember the Most Merciful,

We will assign him a devil to be his companion.

And, the devil will turn him away from Guidance,

though he may think he is on the Right Path,

until he comes to us on Judgment Day, and he says to his devil companion,

“I wish I never knew you.  I wish there was a distance as great

the East and the West between us – what a wicked companion you are.”

And, those who have transgressed and have done evil,

will not be benefited by Satan’s companionship,

and the punishment for so doing will be allocated between you.”

Then, O Muhammad, will you make the UnHearing to hear the Truth,

or guide the Unseeing to the Light,

or guide the person who clearly has made a mistake?

And, whether or not We take you away in repentance or not,

We will dispense justice upon those who do not Believe and have committed evil.

Or, conversely, whether We demonstrate to you that which We gave to them,

indeed, We are perfectly able to do so.

So, follow  The Truth that is Revealed to you.

Without a doubt, you will be on the Right Path.

And, to be sure, it is an honor and reminder for you and your brethren,

and you all we be asked about your deeds in life on that Day.

And, ask those before you of the Messengers,

did We create any other god besides the Most Merciful to worship?

And, We undeniably sent Our Signs to Moses who went before Pharaoh,

and his company, saying, “I am the Messenger of God,

the Sovereign Lord over all the worlds.”

But, when he demonstrated Our Signs to Pharaoh, they laughed at them.

And, We gave them an even greater Sign, bigger than its sister,

and We seized them with suffering so that they might return to Faith.

And, they said to Moses, “O great magician!  Call upon your Lord

to what he has promised you.  Really, we will be guided.”

But, when We removed the suffering, they again broke their promise.

And, Pharaoh, called out to his people, “O my people, doesn’t

this Kingdom of Egypt belong to me?  And these rivers flowing

beneath me, do you see them?

Am I not better than this Moses, who is nothing,

 who bearly makes himself understood”

Then, why haven’t golden bracelets been adorned on him,

and where are his union of heavenly angels?

So, the Pharaoh bullied his people and they complied with him in disobedience.

Indeed, they were a perversely rebellious people.

And, because of their arrogance and lack of Faith,

We drowned all of them in the sea.

And, We made them a standard,

as well as an example for latter civilizations.

And, when the Prophet Jesus, the son of Mary, was presented as another instance,

the people again laughed aloud,

and they mocked him saying, “Aren't our gods stronger than he is?

They only presented the example for pure argument sake.

But, in reality, they were really only people prone to disagreement.

Jesus was a Servant upon whom We bestowed Our Favor,

and We made him a model for the Hebrew people.

And, if We had so Willed to do so, We could have descended angels to earth.

And, surely Jesus preached knowledge of the Final Hour,

so do not doubt it.

And, God said, “Follow Me.  This is the Right Path.

And, never let Satan turn you astray.  For He is to you an avowed enemy.”

And, when Jesus brought Clear Evidence, he said,

I have come to you with wisdom of the ages,

and to help you to understand on that which you differ,

so fear God and listen to me.

In truth, God is my Sovereign Lord, and your Sovereign Lord,

so pray to Him.  This is the Right Path.”

But, the church separated and divided, and came to differ.

So despair to those who are sinful from the punishment of the Day.

Are they all waiting for the Final Hour to descend upon them all of a sudden

whilst they don’t know it?

Even one’s dearest friends will not avail you on that day.

And, God will say to the Believers, “All of My humble followers,

you will have no fear on this Day, nor will you feel sorrow,

all you who Believe in Our Verses, and have Faith.”

Enter into Paradise, you and the fellow Believers, in happiness.”

And, the finest imaginable vessels and plates will be passed amongst them

with the finest of fruits and sustenance of what they desire.

And, their souls will receive that which they sought,

delighting about what they see,

 and you will abide eternally in Paradise.

And, that is what you will receive for all the Righteous good deeds you did in life.

For you in Paradise is everything delicious from which to eat.

In contrast, the evil DisBelievers will have the punishment of Hellfire,

to abide therein eternally.

And, it will not abate for them at all, and therein they will despair.

And, We did not cause them to do wrong, they wronged themselves.

And, they will call out to the Keeper of Hell, “O Malik! 

Make our Sovereign Lord put an end to all of this!

But, he will reply, “You must remain.”

We have definitely brought you the Truth so you might learn by it.

But, some of you are averse to the Truth.

Or, have they devised some plan to save themselves?

But, verily, We are also devising a counterplan.

Or, do they think that We do not hear their innermost secrets

and all of their private conversations?  Yes, We do, and our angels record them.

Say to them, “If the Most Merciful indeed had a son,

then I would surely follow him.”

But, God is exalted far above what they illustrate,

He is the Sovereign Lord God over all the Heavens and the earth,

Lord of The Supreme Throne of Authority.

So leave them to their vain discussions, and entertain themselves,

until they encounter the Day that they were promised.

And, it is God who is the only deity in Heaven,

as well as the only deity on earth.

And, He is the All Knowing, the Most Wise.

And Blessed is He to whom belongs all the power of the Heavens and the earth,

and everything in between them,

and with whom true wisdom is vested of the Final Hour,

the One to whom we all be returned in the End.

And, they who the polytheists call upon besides God

 do not have the power to help them.

Only those who testify to the Truth will benefit from it, and they know it.

And, if you ask them who created them, they reply, “God did.”

So why are they misled from the Right Path?

And, the Prophet himself testified, “O My Sovereign Lord,

 these are a DisBelieving people.”

So turn away from the DisBelievers, but wish them, “Peace.”

For in the End, they are going to know the Truth.
