surah 42 negotiation

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

 

Ha, Meem.

Ayn, Seen, Qaf.

In this manner has He Revealed to you, O Muhammad,

as with those before you –

God, the Most Exalted in Might,

the Most Wise.

To Allah, belongs all that is in the Heavens and the earth,

and He is the Most Exalted and Worthy of Praise, the Most Great.

The Heavens almost come apart in awe of Him,

and the Angels acclaim Him and give praise to their Sovereign Lord.

And, they ask for repentance for those on earth.

Most assuredly it is Allah who is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

And, those who take for friends other than Him –

He is still watching over them; and, you, O Muhammad,

 are not at fault if they do not Believe.

And, accordingly, We Revealed to you the Qur’an in your language,

so that you might warn Makkah, and the surrounding cities,

and warn of the Day of Judgment, about which there is not uncertainty.

The Believers will be in the Gardens of Paradise, and,

the DisBelievers will be in the Fiery Blaze of Hellfire.

And, if God so Willed, He could have made all of mankind one religion,

but, He calls whom He wills to Faith and bestows His Mercy.

However, the DisBelievers will have no one to protect them,

nor to avail them on that Day.

Haven’t they taken others as guardians before?

But, Allah is the Protecting Friend, bestowing life to the lifeless,

and He is over all things the Most Competent.

And, any matter which you disagree upon is submitted to God for Judgment.

Say, “That is God, my Most Sovereign Lord;

I call upon Him alone, and to Him do I turn in remembrance.”

He is the Creator of all the Heavens and the earth.

He has made for each creature on earth its counterpart;

and He causes you to proliferate thereby.

And, there is nothing like Him of any of His Creations,

and He sees and hears all things.

To Him, belong the secrets of all the Heavens and the earth.

He provides sustenance to whom He Wills, and diminishes it.

In Truth, He is Knowing of all things.

And, He Proclaimed for you the True Faith,

like He bestowed upon Noah, and that which We Revealed to Muhammad,

and, what We bestowed upon Jesus, Moses, and Abrahim,

in order to establish the One True Faith, and to not be divided in Belief.

And, for those who are divided in loyalty, it is difficult for them to Believe in God.

And, He selects whom He Wills to Believe,

 and Guides those who turn toward Him.

And, the people did not become divided in Faith,

until after the Word had reached them –

out of mistrustful hatred between themselves.

And, if not for the postponement of the punishment for a time by your Lord,

they would have been finished.

And, indeed, even those who were given God’s Scripture, still remained in doubt.

So, O Muhammad, welcome them to Believe in the One True Faith,

and remain on the Right Path as you were instructed,

and do not follow the tendency of others, but instead say,

“God has Revealed the Clear and Noble Qur’an,

and I have been instructed about fair dealing and integrity among you.

Allah is Our Lord and your Sovereign Lord. 

For us is our deeds, and you for yours.

There is no need for dispute between us because the Truth was made Clear.

And, God will gather us all together, and to Him is the Final Sanctuary.”

And, those who dispute the Truth after it has been made known to them,

their arguments are unacceptable with their Sovereign Lord,

and upon them is His fury, and for them is a immense punishment.

It is God who descended down the Qur’an in Truth,

and Justice.  And, what will make you to Understand it?

Possibly, the Final Hour is near.

Those who do not Believe in it can’t wait for it, but those who

Believe are apprehensive of it, and Believe that it is the Truth.

Undeniably, those who don’t Believe in the Last Hour are very much mistaken.

God is peaceful with His servants;

and, He gives of His sustenance to whom He Wills.

And, He is the Most Exalted in Might, the Most Supreme.

Whoever wishes for the Hereafter’s harvest, We will increase his reward.

But, whoever wishes for the harvest of this wordly life,

We may provide it to him, but there is no portion for him in Paradise.

Or, do they have other beings they call upon besides Allah,

though God does not approve of it?

But if not for the decisive Judgment, it would have been ended for them.

And, undoubtedly, the DisBelievers will have an agonizing punishment in the End.

You may witness the DisBelievers terrified for what they have earned

 in bad deeds, and the punishment will most certainly befall them.

But, those who Believe and have done Righteous good deeds in life

will reside in the plush Gardens of Paradise fulfilling their righteous rewards

in the presence of their Sovereign Lord God.

That is what is the greatest reward of all.

It is that of which God gives His blessings to His servants

who Believe and do Righteous good deeds.

Say, O Muhammad, “I do not ask anything from you for this Message,

only goodwill through brotherhood.”

And, whoever does a Righteous good deed, We will increase his reward therein.

And, undoubtedly, Allah is the Most Appreciative, and Most Forgiving.

Or, do they talk about the Messenger saying that he has invented lies about God?

But, God could seal over your heart with DisBelief if it was His Will to do so.

And, God establishes Justice and Truth through His Word, and abolishes evil.

Indeed, God is All Knowing of what is truly in the hearts of mankind.

And, He accepts repentance from the Believers,

 and forgives their bad actions and deeds.

And, Allah Knows all that you do in life.

And, He answers the prayers of those who Believe in Him,

and who do Righteous good deeds in life, and increases their reward

from His Great Bounty.

But, those who DisBelieve will have a harsh punishment instead.

And, if God over provided for His followers of His provisions,

aggression and greed might spread throughout the earth.

But, He descends His sustenance in determined amounts as He Wills.

And, without a doubt, He is Well-Acquainted, and observant of His followers.

And, it is God who descends the rain after they gave up all hope of rain,

and He dispenses of His Mercy upon whom He Wills to.

And, He is the Most Praiseworthy, and Protecting Friend to the Believers.

And, His Signs to mankind are His creations of the Heavens and the earth,

and what He scattered about of His living creatures.

And He is the Most Competent, and He will gather them

all together when the ordained time comes.

And, whatever befalls you, it is by His Leave.

But, know that God is the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

And, you will not destroy God on earth.

And, you will have no helper, nor protector besides God.

And, the sailboats in the sea, reach their zenith like mountains,

and they too, are of His Signs.

If He Willed to He could quiet every wind on earth,

and they would sit motionless.

And without a doubt, there are Signs in that for those who Believe,

and are thankful to Him.

Or, the sailboats could sink by His Leave; but,

God is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

And, those who ignore Our Signs will know there is no escape from His wrath.

So, whatever you have been provided, it is only for the enjoyment in this life.

But, for those who Believed, what is with God is greatest, and lasts forever.

And, the Believers can rely upon their Sovereign Lord God, those who do not commit

the major immoralities and sins, those who are forgiving of others,

and those who have followed their Sovereign Lord and established prayer,

and whose matters are determined by negotiation between themselves,

and from what We have given to them in sustenance they share,

and those who defend themselves against oppression in a just manner.

But, the punishment for an evil action is one comparable to it,

however, if one repents and makes peace with others – his reward is from Allah.

Verily, God does not like aggression or oppression.

And, whoever avenges himself after he has been wronged,

there is no blame upon him.

The blame is only against the ones who oppress the people

and create aggression on the earth without any reason.

They will have an agonizing punishment.

But, those who are patient and forgiving of others –

that determination rests for Allah.

And, He whom God sends astray, there will be no protector for him.

And, you will see them, when they see the punishment, saying,

“Is there any way we can return to the former life?”

And, you will see them being driven into the Fire,

degraded and humiliated, while you looking on secretly.

And, those who Believed will say, “Really, the true losers on the Day

of Resurrection are the ones who were lost and went astray from the Right Path,

Undeniably, they are destined for an unrelenting punishment.”

And, there will not be any friends to help them, other than God.

And, whoever God sends astray there is no help for him.

Follow your Sovereign Lord God

 before the Day comes from which there is no escape.

There will be no place to hide on that Day,

nor will there be any denying your deeds or actions.

But, if they turn away from you, O Muhammad, you are not to blame

for you are not their guardian; and your duty is but to let them know.

And, without a doubt, if We dispense Mercy, man is grateful;

but if something happens to him for what he has done, man is unthankful.

To God belongs the power of the Heavens and the earth;

and, He makes what He Wills.

He could create them males or females,

and render whom He Wills to be without child.

Unquestionably, He is the Most Competent, and All Knowing.

And so, We have Revealed to you an insight of God’s Law.

Previously, you did not know what the Qur’an was, or what Faith was,

but We created it as a Light by which to Guide whom We Will of our followers.

And, verily, O Muhammad, you guide to the Right Path –

God’s Path.

The Supreme Inheritor of all of that is in the Heavens and the Earth is God.

And, undeniably, all matters return to Him for Judgment.
