surah 35 our creator

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

 

All praise and glory is due to Allah, Creator of all the Heavens and the earth,

who created the angels as winged Messengers.

And, He created two or three angels, or perhaps four,

and He increases of His creation as He wills. 

Undoubtedly, God is over all matters the Most Knowledgeable.

Whatever God bestows on people of His Mercy – none can hold it back;

and, whatever He withholds of His Mercy – none can force its bestowal thereafter.

And, He is the Most Exalted in Might, the Most Wise.

O mankind, remember the blessings that God has bestowed upon you.

Is there any other creator than God who provides to you of His sustenance

from the Heavens and the earth?

There is no god but Him, so why do you turn away from Him?

And, if they do not heed what you are saying, O Muhammad,

there is no blame upon you, Messengers already were rejected prior to you.

And, to God, are all matters returned.

O people, without a doubt, the Covenant of God is the Truth,

so do not let this worldly life lead you astray from the Right Path,

and don’t be deceived about God by Satan.

Indeed, Satan is to you an avowed enemy;

so see him as an enemy.

He only asks people to his party who will be Companions of Hellfire.

Those who DisBelieve in God will have a harsh punishment;

but, those who Believe and do Righteous good deeds in life

will have forgiveness and a great reward in Paradise.

Then, is a person who does an evil deed that is made to look like it is good

the same as one who is Rightly Guided and does Righteous good deeds?

And, really, God sends astray whom He wills to.

So, don’t grieve over them in regret.

Indeed, God is all Knowing of that what they do in life.

And, it is Allah who descends the winds, stirring the clouds,

and the angels guide them to barren land and give life thereby after its lifelessness.

This is the resurrection of life.

And, to Allah belongs all glory and honor – though others desire it.

To Him let them ascend kind words, and do Righteous good deeds

as proof of their Love for God.

But, those who commit evil deeds will have a harsh punishment,

and the plotting of those deeds will end.

And, God created you from clay; then a solitary sperm drop;

then He made you a counterpart. 

And, no woman conceives, or gives birth without His Knowledge and consent.

And, no elderly person is given more life, nor his lifespan diminished,

but that is in a Royal Register.

And, unquestionably, for God that is easy.

And, the two kinds of water He created are not alike.

  One is freshwater and sweet tasting,

pleasant to drink, and the other is saltwater and bitter tasting.

And, from both forms of water, you can eat sweet fish meat,

and find ornaments that you can wear.

And, gaze upon the ships that plow through the seas; and seek of His Bounty;

and perhaps you will be thankful to Him.

He causes the night to descend upon the day; and He causes the day

to descend upon the night.

And, He has subjected the sun and the moon, each running in

its own orbit for a specific term.

That is Allah, your Sovereign Lord God; and to Him belongs all dominion.

And, those you call upon other than Him do not possess so much the power

of a date seed covering.

If you call upon them in worship, they do not hear your prayers; and,

if they indeed heard them, they would not respond to them.

And, on the Day of Judgment they will deny knowing you.

And, no god can tell you like the One Acquainted with all matters.

O People, you are a people who are in need of God,

while He is free of all necessity; and, He is the Most Praiseworthy.

And, if He so willed, He could cause us all to perish and create a new creation.

And, for God that is not difficult at all.

And, no one will bear the burden of sins of another person.

And, even if a heavily burdened sinner asks another to carry some of his burden,

none of it will be carried by another, even if he or she is a close relative.

And, you can only warn people who fear their Lord God sight unseen,

and who establish prayer to Him.

And, whoever cleanses his soul does so for his or her own good.

And, Allah is the final refuge.

And those who See the Truth and those who don’t are not the same;

nor is the Darkness and the Light,

nor is the shade of Paradise the same as the heat of Hellfire.

And, the Living and the Dead are not equal.

Indeed, God causes to Hear His Word whom He wills,

but you cannot make those in the graves to Hear.

You, O Muhammad, are a warner to mankind.

In reality, We descended to you the Truth as a bearer of good tidings,

as well as a warner. 

And, there was no community, but that God did send a Messenger to them.

And, if they do not Believe – there are those before you that did not Believe.

God’s Servants came to them with Clear Proof, and written commandments,

and the Holy Scripture.

But, those who DisBelieved were caused to perish on the earth,

and how horrible was the admonishment.

Do you not see God descends rain down from the skies,

and We produce fruit thereby of every kind and color as sustenance for you.

And, in the mountains are areas of stones and earth,

white and red of varying depths of color, and some extremely dark.

And, amongst mankind, and the moving animals and livestock He created,

are also varying depths of color similarly.

And, only those who fear God, from among His followers,

who possess True Knowledge.

And, without a doubt, God is the Most Exalted in Might, the Most Forgiving.

And, those who recite the Book of God, and establish regular prayer,

and spend in His cause and in charity out of what We provided to them.

openly and privately, can expect a reward that will never perish –

And, He will give to them their just reward,

and increase for them of His sustenance.

And, to be sure, He is the Most Forgiving and Most Appreciative.

And, that which We Revealed to you, O Muhammad,

is the Book of Truth, confirming the Word of God before it.

And, undeniably, God is Well Acquainted and Seeing of His Servants.

And, We gave the Qur’an to mankind.

And, among mankind are those who commit sins, as well as those who are

fairly judicious and righteous, as well as those who practice

Righteous good deeds in life by His Leave.

This is the greatest gift.

For them are Gardens of Perpetual Abode where they will be welcomed.

They will be adorned therein with golden bracelets and pearls;

and they will wear silken garments.

And, they will say, “Praise be to Allah, who has removed from us all suffering

and sorrow.  Indeed, Our Sovereign Lord God is the Most Forgiving,

and the Most Thankful –

He who has settled us in the Home of Paradise out of His Bounty.

Therein, one will feel no touch of tiredness, nor pain.”

And, for those who DisBelieve will be the Fire of Hellfire.

They are decreed to live therein and will not perish;

and their punishment will not be lightened for them.

Thus, do We punish every unthankful person for DisBelief.

And, they will cry out, “Our Lord, remove us from this Fire,

we will do good and kind deeds – other than what we were doing before.”

But, We will not grant you another life to remember the things

you should have remembered to do before. 

And, the Messenger had warned you.

So, taste of the punishment, for there is not for the UnBelievers any to help them.

And, indeed, God knows all the unseen aspects of the Heavens and the earth.

And, unquestionably, He Knows what is in each of our hearts.

It is He who made you successors on the earth.

And whoever DisBelieves – then upon him is the consequence of DisBelief.

And, the DisBelievers’ lack of Belief does not do anything good

in the sight of our Lord God, except detestation.

And, the lack of Belief of the DisBelievers will do nothing to increase them,

except in loss.

Say to them, “Have you not considered the “lords” you call upon besides God?

Show me all they have created on earth,

or have they partnered with Him in the Heavens like you say?

Or, have We revealed to them a Book that gives them ground to stand on?

No, those who call upon others than God cannot guarantee anything,

except delusion.

And, in fact, it is God who sustains the Heavens and the earth,

less they come to an end.

And, if they should come to an end, there is none other than God

who can sustain them.

And, without a doubt, He is the Most Forbearing, and the Most Forgiving.

And, they swore by God that if a holy messenger came to them,

they would be more Guided than any other people.

But, when a Messenger came to them, it did nothing but increase

their hatred due to arrogance throughout the land,

and their evil plotting against the Messenger.

But, their evil plots did not overtake any but themselves.

Then, do they wait for the fate of the former civilizations to befall them?

And, you will never find on God’s Right Path any change,

nor any deviation in the way that God deals with the DisBelievers.

Haven’t they travelled throughout the land, and seen the end

of the DisBelieving people before them?

And, they were civilizations greater in size and number.

But, you cannot cause failure to God in the Heavens and the earth.

For, without a doubt, He is the All Knowing, and Most Proficient.

And, if Allah were to impose responsibility

 on people for what they have earned in life,

He would not leave upon the earth any creature.

However, He postpones them for a specific term.

And, when their term is up, then, without a doubt,

of all of His followers, God has been all Seeing.
