(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

 

Alif, Lam, Meem.

Do people believe that they may say, “We Believe in God,”

and not be judged by Him?

But, We undoubtedly tested those before them,

and God will most assuredly make clear who are truly Believers,

and He will without a doubt make apparent who are the liars.

Or, do they perform evil deeds believing they can outrun Us?

It is evil what they think.

However, those who hope for the encounter with Allah -

and, without a doubt, the time decreed by God is forthcoming.

And, He is the All Hearing and All Knowing.

And, whoever tries hard to do righteous good deeds,

endeavors for his benefit in the End.

And, God is unbound by need of all the worlds.

And, those who Believe in Him, and do righteous good deeds –

We will most assuredly take away their misdeeds,

and will reward them based on the best of what they used to do in life.

And, We have commanded man to be good to their parents.

However, if they force you to associate others with God,

that of which you have knowledge of any divinity,

do not follow them.

To God is your final return, and He will inform you

of what you used to do in life.

And, those who Believe in Him, and do righteous good deeds,

We will certainly welcome them among the Righteous in Paradise.

And, there are some people who say, “We Believe in God,”

but if one is harmed, they consider the trial to be God’s punishment.

But, if success comes from your Lord God,

they say, “In reality, we were with you all the while.”

Isn’t God the Most Knowledgeable of what is in the hearts of mankind?

And, God will, without a doubt, make clear who Believes in Him,

as well as make apparent who the hypocrites are.

And, those who DisBelieve say to the Believers,

“Follow our ways instead, and we will carry the burden of your sins.”

But, in reality, they will not bear the burden of sins of another.

Really, they are imposters.

But, they will bear the burden of their own sins,

and burdens along with their own, for having led people astray,

and they will most certainly be asked on the Day of Resurrection

about what they used to fabricate.

And, We also most assuredly sent Noah to his people,

and he stayed among them for nine hundred fifty years,

and the great flood overcame them whilst they were of the evildoers.

However, We spared Noah and the ark companions,

and We made it a Sign for all the worlds.

And, Abrahim, when he said to his people,

“Worship God alone and fear Him.

That is best for you, if you but knew.

You worship false idols instead of Allah,

and you manufacture lies.

In reality, those you worship other than God do not have

the power to provide you Bounty.

So seek of God’s sustenance, and worship Him alone,

and be thankful to Him.

To God, you will all be returned.”

And, if you reject God’s Message –

 Already have DisBelieving civilizations past.

And, there is no burden on the Messenger,

but that of the clear notification to mankind.

Have they not thought about how God begins life,

and then repeats its creation?

And, really, for God that is easy.

Say, “Traverse throughout the land and see how He gives forth life.

And, the final creation will also be made by Allah.

And, without a doubt, God is over all things the Most Competent.

He punishes whom He resolves to,

and bestows His Mercy upon whom He Wills,

and you all will be returned to God in the End.

And, you cannot cause failure to God upon the earth, or in the Heavens.

And, other than Allah, you have no other protector or helper.

And, the people who DisBelieve in God’s Signs,

and their reunion with Him – those who have no hope for His Mercy,

they will have an immense punishment in Hellfire.

And, the reply of Abrahim’s people was nothing, but that they said,

“Kill him and burn him,” but God saved him from the fire.

And, indeed, in that are Signs for people who Believe.

And, Abrahim told them, “You have worshipped false idols before God

idols you grant affection among you in this earthly life.

But, on the Day of Judgment you will forsake one another,

 and blame one another,

and your final refuge will be Hellfire,

and you will not find anyone to help you.”

But, Lot believed him. And, Abrahim said,

“Without a doubt, I will turn to my Lord God.

And, He is the Most Exalted in Might, the Most Wise.”

And, We granted to Him Isaac and Jacob,

and conferred on his descendants prophethood and the Holy Scripture.

And, We provided to him his reward in this earthly life,

and, also, he will be among the Righteous in the Hereafter.

And, Lot, when he said to his people, “Really, you commit so much

immorality as no one has before you from among the worlds.

You block the roads and then rob men,

and commit every evil in your gatherings.”

And, his peoples' reply to him was nothing but,

“Bring us God’s punishment, if you are being truthful.”

He said, “My Lord God, help me against this corrupt people.”

And, when Our Angels descended to Abrahim

with the good news of Isaac, they told him,

“We will ruin the people of that civilization.  For, without a doubt,

its inhabitants have been perversely sinful.”

Abrahim replied, “But, Lot is within it.”

They angels replied, “We are ever knowing of who is within the city.

We will surely rescue him and his family, except his wife who is

a DisBeliever.  She will be one of those left behind.”

And, when the angels descended to Lot, he was upset by them

and he felt great discomfort.

They said to him, “Do not fear us, nor grieve for the Lost.”

For, indeed, we will rescue you and your family,

except your wife, who will remain behind with those Lost.

Without a doubt, we will descend on the people of this civilization

great punishment from the skies because they have been

perversely rebellious.”

And, we surely left it as a Sign as Clear Proof

for a people who have a right mind.

And, to Madyan, we compelled their brother, Shu’ayb,

and he said, “O people, worship God, and anticipate

the Last Day, and do not commit violence on the earth,

increasing corruption.”

But, they rejected him, so the earthquake devoured them,

and they dropped flat through their homes.

And, ‘Aad and Thamud, as well, it has become apparent

to you from their ruined abodes.

And, Satan made pleasing to them their misdeeds,

and turned them away from the Right Path,

even though they were blessed with awareness of the Truth.

And this same fate befell Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman.

And, Moses approached them with Clear Proof,

and they were arrogant in matters of Faith throughout the land,

but they could not outrun their fate.

So each was destroyed for his sin; and among them were

people upon whom We descended a shower of stones,

and some were destroyed by a large blast,

while others We caused the earth to swallow them,

and others were drowned.  And, God would not have harmed

them, but it was they who wronged their own selves.

The example of the people who take supporters other than God

is like that of a spider who builds a home.

And, in reality, the most fragile of homes is the home of the spider,

if they only would recognize this.

And, without a doubt, God Knows whatever idol they call upon

besides Him.  And, He is the Most Exalted in Strength,

the Most Wise.

And, these illustrations We provide to the people,

but no one understands them but wise people.

God created the Heavens and the earth in Truth.

And, without a doubt, in that is a Sign for those who Believe.

Recite what has been Revealed to you of the Qur’an,

and establish regular prayer. 

In reality, prayer overcomes immorality and sin.

And, the remembrance of Allah is the Most Great.

And, God Knows all that you do in life.

And, do not quarrel with the People of the Scripture,

except for in a pious fashion, except those

among them who commit grave injustices.

Say, “We Believe in what was Revealed to us, and you.

Our God and your God are one; and we are Believers in Him.”

And, consequently, We descended down to you the Qur’an.

And, those whom We bestowed the Scripture Believe in it.

And, among these people are those who Believe in it as well.

And, no one rejects Our Verses except the perversely rebellious.

And, you did not narrate before it any Scripture,

nor write one with your own right hand.

Then, the fraudulent ones would have had cause for skepticism.

However, the Qur’an has specific verses within the hearts

of those who have been given the Truth.

And, no one rejects Our Verses except the perversely rebellious.

But, some say, “Why aren’t God’s Signs descended down to Him

from His Sovereign Lord?” Reply, “God’s Signs reside with Him,

and I am but a Clear Warner to the people.”

And, isn’t it enough for them that We Revealed the Qur’an to you?

And, in reality, in that is Mercy and remembrance

for people who Believe in Allah.

Say, “Enough is Allah between you and I as a Witness.

He Knows all that is in the Heavens and the earth.

And, those who believe in nothing but lies, and DisBelieve in God –

it is they who are Lost.”

And, they prompt you to speed up the time for the punishment.

And, if it weren’t for the specific time set,

the punishment would have already descended upon them.

But, it will most assuredly arrive when they least expect it.

They beg you to speed up the time for the punishment.

And, without a doubt, Hellfire will encircle

the DisBelievers.

And, on that Day, the punishment will descend upon them

from above them, and from below their feet, and it will be said,

“Taste the punishment for what you used to do.”

O my followers who Believe, really My earth is generous,

so worship only Me.

Every soul on earth does eventually taste death.

Then, to Us you all will be returned.

But, those who Believe, and perform righteous good deeds –

We will designate them to Paradise chambers,

beneath which flowing rivers flow,

wherein they will abide forever. 

And, how outstanding is the reward of the righteous Believers

who have been long enduring in Faith,

and who rely upon their Sovereign Lord God uniquely.

And, how many living creatures cannot provide for its own provision?

God provides for every living creature and for you.

And, He is the All Hearing, All Knowing.

If you ask them, “Who created the Heavens and the earth,

and subjected the sun and the moon to His command?”

They will surely reply, “God.”

So, why are they mislead astray?

God provides of His sustenance for whom He wills of His followers,

and withholds it.  And, Allah is Knowledgeable of all things.

And, if you ask them, “Who descends down rain from the skies

and gives life thereby to the barren earth after its lifelessness?”,

they will likely say, “God.”

Say, “Praise be to Allah”; but, yet, some of them do not Believe.

And, this earthly life is nothing but distraction and entertainment.

And, in reality, the abode of the Hereafter, that is the true existence,

if they only understood.

And, when they go on board a ship, they pray to God,

sincere in Faith to Him.  However, once He carries them to safety

to the shore, once again, they associate others with Him,

and they reject what We bestowed on them,

going about enjoying themselves.

But, in the End, they are going to know the Truth.

Haven’t they seen that We created a safe sanctuary for them,

while others are made to suffer and perish in Hellfire?

So, they believe in nothing but lies, and DisBelieve in the

blessings of Allah? 

And, who is more undeserving of Paradise than someone who

invents lies about God, or rejects the Truth when it is Revealed to him?

Isn’t there in Hellfire an abode for the DisBelievers?

And, those who struggle in charitable and good causes –

We will most assuredly Guide them to God’s Path.

And, without a doubt, Allah is with those who perform

righteous good deeds in life.
