Surah 15 al-Hijr
(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)
Perhaps, those who DisBelieve in God will wish on the Day of Judgment that they had been Believers who submitted to His Will.
Let them eat and enjoy themselves, and be diverted by false hope, for in the end they are going to Know.
And, We did not destroy any civilization, but by a known Decree.
No nation will precede its given term, nor will it remain pass its time.
And, they say, "O you who received the Message of God, you are but mad.
Why don't you bring the angels to us, if you are Truthful."
We do not send down the Angels, but with the Truthful Message. Even then, the Disbelievers will not Believe.
Indeed, we sent down the Message of the Qur'an, and We are its Guardian.
And, We sent Messengers before you, O Muhammad, among the various former civilizations.
And, the Messengers would come to them, and they would ridicule him.
Thus, We have placed denial in their hearts for their evildoings.
They will not Believe in the Message, even though there is the prior precedence of the former civilizations before them.
And, even if We opened the Gate of Heaven to them, and ascended them thereto, they would say, "Our eyes have only been deceived, this is but magic."
And, We have placed in the Heavens great stars, and have beautified them for the star gazers.
And, We have protected them from the expelled Evil Ones, from the Mercy of Allah.
Those who ask for a secret hearing, they will be pursued by a clear burning flame.
And, the earth - We spread it like a carpet, and cast firmly set mountains, and brought forth life of every kind in balance.
And, We provided therein means of livelihood, so that you might provide for yourself.
And, everything is dependent on Our preservation and safekeeping, and to each, is a specified term.
And, We have sent the wind full of life, and sent down water from the skies, and given you nourishing drink from it. And, you are not the owners of it.
And, indeed, it is We who give life, take life, and in the end, it is God who is the Supreme Inheritor.
And, We knew the preceeding generations before you, and We already know the ones yet to come.
And, verily, your Sovereign Lord will gather them all. Indeed, He is the Most Wise, the All Knowing.
And, God made mankind out of clay from special dark soil.
And, We made the jinn before from Scorching Fire.
And, recite O Muhammad, when Your Sovereign Lord said to the angels, "I will create mankind out of clay from special dark soil."
And, God created mankind, breathing life and the soul ordained for him into his body. Then, fall down and prostrate before Him.
So the angels prostrated, all of them, completely.
Except Iblees, who was the jinn. He refused to bow down before Allah.
God said, "O Ibless, why is it that you do not prostrate before Me?"
He said, "Never will I prostrate to a man made of clay from a special dark soil."
God said, "Then, get out of your position in the Heavens. You are expelled."
"And, indeed, you are cursed until Judgment Day."
He said, "My Lord, please temporarily relieve me of discomfort and harm until the Day they are resurrected."
God said, "Indeed, you are given reprieve until the Day, the well-known Time.
Iblees said, "Because you have mistaken me, I am going to mislead mankind astray. And, I will mislead them all, except your chosen servants."
God said, "There is path of return that is Rightful.
Verily, you will have no power over My Servants, except those who deviate from the Right Path."
And, verily, Hell is their promised place.
And there are seven gates, each with a gate portioned and designated for Satan's followers.
The Believers, on the other hand, will be within Gardens and springs,
having been told to enter "Enter with Peace, safe and secure."
And, We will remove the resentment from their hearts of their worldly life, so they will all be brethren, on thrones facing one another.
They will not feel any tiredness, nor will they ever have to worry about being removed therefrom.
O Muhammad, let them know that God is the Most Merciful, the Most Forgiving.
And, that My punishment is one to be feared for those of no Faith.
Remind them of Abraham's visitors,
When they entered his home saying, "Peace", Abraham replied, "We are apprehensive of you."
The angels, said, "Do not fear us. We are here to give you glad tidings and to let you know of a knowledgeable young man."
He said, "You are giving me glad tidings, although I am an older man? It makes me wonder why."
They said, "We have given you glad tidings of the Truth, so do not despair."
He said, "Only those astray would despair at the Truth.
Then, why are you messengers here?"
The angels said, "We are here for the wrongdoing people.
Except the Lot family. We will save them all,
Except your wife." She will be among those left behind for having associated with those doing evil.
And, when the Messengers came to the Lot family,
He said, "You are an unknown people."
The Messengers said, "We have come to you about that which you were disputing."
And, We have come to you with the Truth. And, indeed, we are Truthful.
So, set out with your family in the night, and follow behind them. Do not look back, and do as you are commanded to.
And, We conveyed to him God's decree regarding the people left behind; that the sinners would perish by early morning.
And, the people of the city came rejoicing at the news of the Lot's visitors.
Lot said, "These are my esteemed guests, so please do not shame me."
And fear God, and do not otherwise disgrace me.
The Messengers said, "Haven't we said that you cannot protect people?"
Lot said, "These are my women of marrying age - if you were here to perform marriages."
Indeed, they were, O Muhammad, intoxicated, wandering about blindly.
The day of Thamud's destruction, the sheik seized them at sunrise.
And, We made the highest part of the city the lowest, and rained down stones of hard clay upon them for their sins.
Indeed, in that are Signs for those who understand right from wrong.
And, indeed , those cities are set on a given path.
Verily, in that, is a Sign for the Believers.
The people of Madyan were also involved with evil, and among the wrongdoers.
So We took retribution from them for their sins, and indeed, both cities are on a clear road to destruction.
And, certainly the companions of the Valley of Stone did deny the Messengers's Word.
We gave them Our Signs, but they turned away.
And, they would carve cave dwellings into the stone walls, so as to think themselves secure.
But, the sheik struck them in the early morning.
So, nothing did avail them from what they used to earn.
And, We created the Heavens and Earth, and all in between them in Truth. And, verily, the Hour is coming. So forgive one another with forgiveness and grace.
Indeed, Your Sovereign Lord is the Creator with Knowledge of all things.
And, We have given you, O Muhammad, the Surah Al Fatihah, and the Noble Qur'an.
Do not turn your eyes to the things coveted by the DisBelievers, and do not grieve them. And, show kindness to those who Believe.
And, say: " I am the Clear Warner to mankind."
Just as We Revealed the Scripture to the Jews and Christians who separated themselves from their Prophets,
Accordingly, We have made the Qur'an in verses, and some will accept and reject parts thereto.
So by Your Sovereign Lord, We will surely question them all about their Faith,
and about the deeds they have done.
Thereby, you will distinguish the Believers from the UnBelievers. And, turn away from those who associate others with God.
Indeed, We are strong enough to protect you from those who mock you,
those who think other deities are equal with Allah. But, in the end, they will Know the Truth.
And, We know your heart is already concerned about what they say about you.
So, exalt God with praise of Him, and be one who bows down before Him.
And, worship your Sovereign Lord, until death does certainly come.
