Surah 14 Ibraheem

Alif, Lam, Ra.

This is a Book We have Revealed to you, O Muhammad, that you might bring mankind out of Darkness into the Light by consent of the Lord God
 - to the Path of the Almighty, He who is Worthy of All Praise!

God, to whom belongs whatever is the heavens, and whatever is on the Earth.
And, ruin will come to the DisBelievers,
and a terrible punishment for their DisBelief in God.

The people who prefer this worldly life to the Hereafter,
and who turn people away from God, are very much in error.

And, God did not send a Messenger, except one speaking in the language of his people,
 so they could understand what was being said. 

And, God will allow to stray from the Right Path whom He Wills,
and Guides whom He Wills to the Right Path. 
And, He is the Almighty, The Most Wise.

And, indeed, We sent Moses with Our Signs, saying, "Bring your people out from the Darkness into the Light, and remind them of the Glory of God." 
Verily, in that are Signs for patient and grateful people.

And, recall O people of Israel, when Moses said to his people,
 "Remember God's favor upon us when He saved us from Pharoah's people who were tormenting you, and slaughtering your newborn children, while keeping their mothers alive.  And in that, was a trial from Your Lord God.

And, remember when your Lord, said, "If you were truly grateful, I would increase My Favor upon you."  But, if indeed you deny Me, you will be given a severe punishment.

Has not the News of those peoples before you reached you?  The people of Noah, of 'Aad, Thamud, and those after them?  No one Knows the number of people but God.

  Their Messengers brought Clear Signs, but they clasped their heads in DisBelief saying, "Indeed, we DisBelieve in the Signs that you have been sent, and we are in doubt about that which you invite us to."

Their Messengers replied, "Can there be any doubt about God, the Creator of all the Heavens and the earth?"  He invites you so that your sins might be forgiven, and He delays your death for a set term.  The people said, "You are but a person like us, trying to turn us away from worshipping the faith of our forefathers.  So, bring us Clear Proof."

Their Messengers said, "We are but people like you, but God confers His Favor upon His Servants.  It is not for us to bring evidence, except by God's Will. 
And upon God, let the Believers rely.

Why shouldn't we rely on God when He has Guided us aright? 
And, surely we will be patient against whatever harm may come to us.
 And upon God, let the relying Believers rely.

Those who DisBelieved the Messengers said, "We will surely drive you out of our land, unless you return to our religion. 
So their Lord told them, "I will surely ruin the evildoers."

And, the angels will cause you to live in the land after them.  That is for he would fears God's authoritative position, and fears His threats of punishment.

They request victory from God, and disappointed, therefore, are every stubborn tyrant.

Before him is Hell, and he will be given a drink of fiery water.

He will try to swallow the water, but cannot.  And, death will come to him from everywhere, but he will not perish.  And, before him, is an immense punishment.

An example of those who DisBelieve in the Lord God is that their good deeds will be like ashes blowing in the wind on a stormy day.  They are unable to keep any blessing they may have earned.  Not a single one. That is the horrible mistake they have made.

Do you not see that your Lord God created the Heavens and Earth in Truth?  If He so Willed, He could do away with them, and make a whole new creation to replace them.

And, that is not difficult for God.

And, all people will come altogether in Judgment before God.  And the weak will say to the arrogant, "We were your followers.  Can you avail us against the punishment of God?"  They will reply, "If God had Guided us, we would Guide you.  It is all the same for us if we are intolerant or patient, there is no escape for us."

And, Satan will say when the matter is over, "Indeed, God had sent you The Truth.  And, I promised you, then betrayed you.  I had no authority over you, only that I invited you to evil, and you accepted it.  So do not blame me, blame yourselves.  I cannot come to your assistance, nor can you come to mine.  Indeed, I deny ever knowing you." 
Indeed, for the DisBelievers is a horrible punishment.

And, those who Believed, and did righteous good deeds, will be admitted to Gardens, beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein eternally by consent of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be "Peace!"

Have you not seen God's example by making a Good Word like a good tree whose roots are firmly established, and its branches reaching up to the sky?

By permission of Our Lord God, the tree produces fruit all the time. 
And, God presents examples for people so that they may be reminded of Him.

And, the example of a bad word is like a bad tree,
 uprooted from the Earth's surface, having no stability at all.

God keeps steadfast in Belief those who Believe in Him as the One and only True God, and who Believe that the Messenger was the Last Prophet, in this worldly life, as well as in the Hereafter.  God sends astray the Disbelievers, and He does as He Wills.

Have you considered those who exchange away the favor of God for DisBelief,
 and settling their people in the Abode of Ruin?

They will enter to burn in Hellfire, and wretched is their lot.

And, they atrribute others as equal to God, leading people away from God's Path.  Say to them,  "Enjoy yourselves, for indeed, your Final Abode is The Fire." 

O Muhammad, tell the people who Believe to establish regular prayers, and spend from what God has provided them in His good and kindly causes, both privately and secretly, because The Day will come, One where there is no ransom, nor friendships.

It is God who created the Heavens and the Earth, and descended down rain from the sky producing fruit as sustenance for you, and Commanded the ships in the sea to sail through the seas, and subjected the rivers to you.

And, He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuously in their heavenly orbits; and subjected the night and the day for you.

And, He gave to you all that you asked of Him.  And, if you count the blessings of God, you could not repay them.  Verily, some of mankind is still unjust and ungrateful.

And, mention O Muhammah, when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city Mecca safe, and keep me and my family away from the idolators."

Indeed, my Lord, many have they led astray.  Whoever follows me is of my religion, and whoever disobeys me is astray.  But, Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

My Lord, I have settled some of my people in an uninhabited area near the Sacred House so that they may be able to establish prayers there.  So make the People's hearts incline toward God, and provide fruit for them so that they might be thankful to Him.

Our Lord God!  You Know what we conceal, and what we do not. 
And, nothing is hidden from God in the Heavens or on Earth.

Praise to God, who provided me Ishmael and Isaac in their elderly years.
  Verily, our Lord Hears all of our prayers.

My Lord, help me to establish regular prayers, as well as my descendants as well.
  Our Lord, please accept our prayers.

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents, and the Believers, on the Day of Judgment when our deeds will be counted.

And, never think that God does not Know what the Disbelievers are doing.  He will make an accounting on The Day when they will stare in horror.

Running ahead with their heads in the air, their glances will not come back to them,
 and their hearts will be empty.

And, O Muhammad, warn the People of The Day when the punishment may come to them.  And, those who did wrong will say, "O Lord, will you delay this for a short while, we will respond to Your call and follow the Messengers."   

But, it will be said to them, "Had you Believed in God,
no blessings from Him would have been withheld from you."

And, you lived among the people who did wrong, and it was clear to you how Allah felt about them.  And, God presented many examples for you.

And, they plotted their plans, and God recorded them.  And, although they think their plans sufficient to move mountains, they have no effect against God's Will.

So never believe that God will fail in His Promise to His Messengers. 
Verily, God is the Most Exalted, the Owner of Recompense.

It will be on The Day when the Earth will be replaced by another earth, and the Heavens as well, and all creatures will come out before God, the One, the Prevailing.

And, you will see the evildoers on that Day bound together in shackles.

Their clothing will melt from the Scorching Fire,
and their faces will be covered by the Fire.

God will reward each soul on that Day what it has earned. 
Indeed, God is swift in taking account.  

This Qur'an is to notify the people of The Truth, so that mankind may be warned thereby.  And, remind people of Understanding, that they may come to Know
and Believe in The One True God!
