88 the overwhelming day

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Has there reached to you news of The Overwhelming Day?

Some of the faces on that day will be humbled before God,

having worked hard in evil deeds, and being exhausted therefrom.

They will enter to burn in the immensely Fiery Blaze.

They will be given blazingly fiery water to drink from to quench their thirst.

For them, there will be no nourishment except from the poisonous, thorny bush,

that neither nourishes them, no stifles their hunger.

Other faces on that Day will show immense pleasure at the sight of their Lord.

With their deeds in life, they are satisfied,

and they will be elevated to the Highest Garden,

where they will hear only kind words.

Within the Garden is a flowing spring,

with soft couches raised high to sit on,

and cups in their place next to them.

And, cushions will be lined up to rest on,

and soft carpets spread about to walk on.

Then, do they look at how creation of the camel was made?

And, they look at the sky and see how it was raised?

And, at the mountains, how they were set?

And, at the earth, how was it spread out?

O Muhammad, you are a reminder to the people.  So remind them of God.

But, you are not their judge.

However, he who hears the Truth and turns away from you in DisBelief,

Then God will punish him with the worst of punishments.

Indeed, to Us is their final return.

And, then indeed, to Us in the final accounting of their

 deeds.
