77 the winds sent forth

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

By the winds that are sent forth in gusts,

and, by the winds that blow forcefully,

and by the winds that disperse the clouds,

and the angels that bring the criterion of judgment,

and those angels that deliver the Message of God,

as warning,

indeed, what is promised will occur.

So, when the stars descend from the heavens,

and the heavens open,

and the mountains are taken away,

and when the Messengers of the Nations’ time to witness their nations have come,

for what day was it postponed?

For the Day of Resurrection.

And, what do you know of the Day of Resurrection.

Misery on that Day to those who deny the Truth.

Did we not set the former civilizations before you as examples?

Then, later ones will follow them as well.

Thus, We adjudicate the DisBelievers.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

Did We not create you from the life substance?

And, We placed life firmly in the womb

for a set time.

And, We determined what it would be, and, We are excellent at this.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

Didn’t We make the earth a holding place,

for both the living and the dead?

And, we placed thereon majestic, firmly set mountains,

and gave you sweet nectar to drink from.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

They will be told, “Proceed to that which you denied would occur.

Proceed to the three pillars of dark smoke,

where you will find no shade, nor none to help you against the Burning Flame.”

Indeed, the sparks it throws are bigger than a fortresss,

colored yellowish black like a camel.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

This is a Day when they will not be able to speak,

nor will any excuses be accepted.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

On the Day of Judgment we will gather all of you, and the former civilizations.

They may plan all they want, but their plans against God will have no avail.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

Indeed, the Righteous will be set among shade-filled Gardens and springs,

and fruits of whatever they desire,

being told, “Eat and drink in kind for all the good deeds you used to do.” 

Thus, We reward the people who do good deeds.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

O DisBelievers!  You will be given little to eat and drink on that Day, for indeed,

you were wrongdoers.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

And, when it is said to them, “Bow down and pray to God,”

 they will not bow down.

Misery on that Day for those who deny the Truth.

Then, in what will they Believe, if not this Qur’an?
