66 the gossipers

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

O Holy Prophet, why do you keep yourself

from that which God has made lawful to you?

And, Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

God has already freed you from oaths

 made unlawful because they were contrary to His Laws.

And, God is your Protector.

And, He is the All Knowing, the Most Wise.

And, remember when you confided a secret to someone,

and she betrayed your trust and told someone else,

and she said, “Who told you this?

He replied, “I was told by the All Knowing, the Most Wise.”

If the two repent to Allah, it is all for the best,

for their hearts deviated from the Path by gossiping.

But, if you follow the Right Path, then, indeed,

God is his protector.

And, Gabriel, and the Righteous Believers,

and the angels are His assistants.

Perhaps if He substituted other people for these gossips,

it would be better for you,

people who Believe in God, who are obedient to His laws of truthfulness,

those who are repentant, and who worship Him alone.

O you who Believe, protect yourselves and your families

from DisBelief, for the punishment is the Fire whose fuel

is those before them and hot stones.

Over the Fire preside appointed harsh and stern angels,

who do as they are commanded to in obedience to God.

O you who have DisBelieved, do not make excuses on that Day.

You will be punished for what you did on earth.

O you who Believe in God, turn to Him with sincere repentance.

Perhaps, your Sovereign Lord will forgive you your sins,

and bless you with Gardens of Paradise,

beneath which flowing rivers flow,

on the Day when He will meet the Prophet Muhammad,

 and those who Believed in God with him.

Their Light will go before them on the Right Path,

and they will say, “Our Sovereign Lord, perfect for us our Light,

and forgive us our sins.  Indeed, You are over all things competent and just.”

O Holy Prophet, warn the DisBelievers,

and the hypocrites as well,

otherwise, they will have a horrible destination,

a refuge in Hellfire.

God presented examples of those who DisBelieved:

the wives of Noah and Lot.   They were very close to the Righteous servants,

but betrayed them. So those servants could not avail them at all against God,

and, it was said to them, “Enter with those who enter the Fire.”

And, God presented examples of those who Believed in Him.

The wife of Pharaoh said, “My Lord build me a house near to Paradise.

Save me from the Pharaoh, and his deeds, and save me from

the DisBelieving People.”

And, the example of Mary, the daughter of ‘Imran,

who guarded her piety,

and We blew life unto her through the Angel Gabriel.

And, she Believed in the words of her Sovereign Lord,

and His Scriptures, and became one of the devoutly obedient.
