38 the letter "sad"

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

The letter “Sad.”

By the unique and Noble Qur'an possessing a reminder of God…

but the DisBelievers are arrogant, and discordant in matters pertaining to Faith.

And, how many a civilization before them was destroyed because of lack of Belief;

and they shouted out; but there was no time to get away.

And, they wonder why a Messenger was sent to them from the people.

And, those who DisBelieved said, “He is but a sorcerer and telling lies.

Has he made all of the deities into One God? Really, this is a remarkable thing.”

And, the well-known men of his time continued,

“Continue on with what you believe in, and be strong in defense of your deities.

Without a doubt, this is what he intended.

We have not heard of this new religion of yours.

This is nothing but lies.

Why would the message be sent to him when He had all of us to choose from?”

They were in doubt and DisBelief about God’s Message.

And, they had not tasted of the punishment that could befall them in the End.

Or, do they own all of the reserves of God’s Mercy,

the Most Exalted in Might, the Bestower of Faith?

Or, is theirs the power of the Heavens and the earth, and

everything in between them?

Then, let them oversee their own affairs!

They are but defeated armies among the company of the DisBelievers.

The people of Noah denied the Truth before them, and the people of ‘Aad,

as well as the Pharaoh, who caused people to suffer.

And, the people of Thamud and Lot, and the people of Madyan,

they were the companies of DisBelievers and were defeated.

Each of these peoples rejected the Messengers God sent to them,

so God’s punishment was Just.

And, on Judgment Day, the Horn will be blown one time for the DisBelievers;

and there will be no respite from the punishment of Hellfire.

And, they will say, “O Lord, bring the punishment on earlier than the Day of Judgment.”

Be patient, O Muhammad, over what they say, and remember God’s Messenger,

David, the strong one, who repeatedly kept turning back to God.

Indeed, We subjected the mountains to His Will, exalting Him

at sunrise, and at dusk.

And, the birds were gathered, all repeating praise and glory.

And, We fortified his kingdom, and We blessed David with great knowledge,

and sensitivity in his speech.

And, did the news of the arguing men reach you,

who climbed over the wall of David's prayer chamber –

and they entered therein frightening him.

And, they said to him, “Do not be afraid.  We are fighting, and one of us has

aggrieved the other, so we want you to judge between us on the matter.

This, my brother, has ninety nine sheep, and I have one.  And, he said,

‘Give her to me,’ and he became overcome with anger.”

David replied, “Your brother has wronged you by asking for your last sheep.

In fact, many brethren hurt one another, except the Believers who try

to act kindly and justly – but, they are few in number.”

And, David thought that We were putting a trial before him,

and he asked forgiveness from His Sovereign Lord God,

and fell down before Him in repentance.

So, We forgave him for that; and the truth being told,

he is devoted to Us, and he has chosen a Good Path.

We said to him, “We have given you a successor on the earth, David,

so rule over your people in Truth,

and do not follow your longings as they will lead you astray from the Right Path.

And, those who go astray from God’s Path will have an immense punishment

for having forgotten the final accounting of their deeds on Judgment Day.

And, We did not create all the Heavens and the Earth without purpose.

That’s what those who DisBelieve think,  and suffering will come to

those who DisBelieve in the Fiery Blaze of Hellfire.

Or. should we treat the Believers who do Righteous good deeds the same

as the ones who corrupt throughout the land?

Or, should we treat the evil people the same as those who fear

and are conscious of God?

This is a Noble Book that we Revealed to you, O Muhammad,

so that His followers may reflect on the verses,

and so that the Believers who be reminded of God.

And, We gave David  - Solomon.

A good son, who kept turning back to God.

And, the panting racehorses stood before him one afternoon.

And, he said, “I will enjoy the good that He has given me during the day,

and worship My Sovereign Lord when the sun disappears

behind the curtain of darkness.”

He said, “Bring them to me,” while he stroked and

checked the horses’ necks and legs.

And, We tried Solomon as well, and placed a fitnah on his throne,

then he turned to God in repentance.

He said, “My Lord forgive me, and give to me a kingdom,

the likes of which no one has seen before.

Indeed, You are the Bestower of Gifts.”

So, We subjected the wind to him, and it blew gently where he asked it to,

and the wind devils ever grew and descended,

but We bound them together for him and shackled them.

We said to him, “This is our gift to you, whether you are thankful or not.”

And, really, for Him is closeness to Us, and a good return.

And, do you also remember Job, our faithful servant,

when he called to His Lord saying, “Without a doubt, Satan has

struck my life with torment and suffering.”

And, he was told, “Strike the ground with your foot,

and there will emerge a cool spring for your to drink and bathe in.”

And, We gave to his family, and an equal number of others with them,

of Our Mercy, and this is a reminder for those who Believe.

We said to him, “Take a small handful of grass in your hand, and

throw it at your wife, instead of striking her with your hand,

as you said you would, and do not break your promise.

And, we found him to be patient, and a good servant.

Indeed, he turned back to God repeatedly in repentance.

And, remember Our Faithful Servants Abrahim, Isaac, and Jacob –

they were strong in Faith and vision.

Indeed, We selected them for remembrance of the family.

And, to Us, they were among the selected and Faithful.

And, also remember, Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl,

all among the best.

This is a remembrance. And, for the Faithful will be an excellent place to return to

Gardens of Eternal Abode – whose gates will open and welcome them.

And, they will recline therein, and they will have abundant sustenance

of fruit and beverage.

And, with them will be devoted spouses of equal age.

That is what the Believers are promised on the Day of Final Accounting.

And, this is Our provision for you; and there is no diminution.

This is so for the Believers.  But, for the sinners is an evil place to return to –

they will enter to burn in Hellfire, and what a wretched place of abode.

So, let them taste of the punishment: scalding water with no food;

and, other punishments of this type and kind.

Here is some more company to erupt with you.

There will be no welcome for them.

And, indeed, they will burn in Hellfire.”

They will reply, “Not you too!  There is no welcome for you here.

You brought this upon us, and what a horrible conclusion this is!

And they will say, “O Lord!  Whoever brought this upon us –

double his punishment in the Fire!”

And, they will say, “ Why don’t we see the Believers?

Is it because we made fun of them, or because we turned away from them?”

In fact, that is the reality of the people quarreling in Hellfire.

Say, O Muhammad, “I am but a warner to mankind,

and there is no god but Allah, the One True God, the Most Triumphant.

Sovereign Lord of all the Heavens and the earth, and all that is in between them,

the Most Exalted in Might, the Most Forgiving One.”

Say, “It is good news,”

 but you turn away.

I have no knowledge of when the exalted Gathering Day will come.

I am but a warner to mankind, and it has not been Revealed to me.”

But, remind them, when your Sovereign Lord God said to the angels,

“Really, I am going to create a special life from clay.

And, when I balanced and proportioned him,

and breathed life into him of My Soul;

So, fall down before him in adoration.”

So the angels bowed down, all of them completely,

except the fallen angel Satan, who was arrogant and became a DisBeliever.

And, God said, “Satan, why didn’t you bow down before Me

for that which I created?  Were you arrogant, or

were you already among the self-aggrandizing?”

And, Satan replied, “I am better than mankind. You created me

from the Smoking Fire, and man from clay.”

Then God said, “Then get out of here, for indeed,

you are cast out.

And, without a doubt, My curse is upon you until the Day of Judgment.”

He said, “My God, please pardon me until the Day they are resurrected.”

And, God replied, “So, you will be of those pardoned

until the Day of the renown time.”

Satan said, “With might like yours, I will mislead them all,

except those of your selected followers.”

And, God said, “The Truth…

the Truth I dictate,

and I will surely fill Hellfire with you and your followers altogether.

Say, “I do not ask you for any money for the Truth,

and I am not of the arrogant.

This is a remembrance to all the worlds.

And, I will surely know the Truth in due time.”
