36 the letters ya & seen

(In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

 

Ya, Seen.

By the precise and Noble Qur’an,

Without a doubt, you, O Muhammad, are among the Messengers

on the Right Path. 

This is a Revelation of the Most Exalted in Might, the Most Merciful,

so you might warn the people whose ancestors were not warned about DisBelief,

they were among those who didn't know the Truth.

And, God’s Decree already descended upon them,

and as a result, they did not Believe in Him.

As a matter of fact, they were shackled by their own arrogant DisBelief.

And, We placed a hindrance before them and behind them,

and covered them, so they would not see the Truth.

And, it is all the same whether you warn them or you don’t,

they still won’t Believe.

You can only warn a follower of the Message,

who fears the Most Merciful sight unseen.

And, give him good blessings of forgiveness, and a gracious reward.

Verily, it is We who bring to life the dead, and record mankind’s deeds in life,

and all matters have been recorded on the Preserved Slate.

And, here is an example of when the Messengers came to the people in the city,

and, We sent two of them but they rejected them, and so,

 We fortified them by sending a third, and they came saying,

“We are a bearer of the Word to you.”

They replied, “But you are nothing but humans like us,

and, the Most Merciful has not sent a thing to you.

You are only conveying lies to us.”

They said, “God knows that we are Messengers to mankind,

but we are not responsible if you Believe or if you don’t.

And, we give you the Clear Truth.”

They replied, “Really, we consider you are a bad prophecy.

If you don’t stop this, we will certainly stone you,

or a painful punishment will surely touch you.”

They said, “Your fate is your own. 

Are you making this threat because you were made to think?

Really, you are a sinful people.”

And, from the farthest end of the city, a man came running.

He cried to the people, “O my community, follow the Messengers.”

Follow those who offer you Guidance, but ask nothing in return for it.

And, why shouldn’t I worship and give praise to God who created me,

and to whom we all will return?

If the Most Merciful were somehow to intend harm for me,

why should I call false idols, when their help will not avail me at all,

nor could they rescue me?

In fact, I would be greatly mistaken by doing so.

Indeed, I Believe in the Most Sovereign Lord God,

so listen to me.”

(The man was caused to perish at the hands of the DisBelievers.)

And, it will be said to him, “Welcome and enter into Paradise.”

And, the man replied, “I wished the people could know

how My Sovereign Lord has blessed me with forgiveness,

and conferred to me a rank of honor.”

And, We did not descend an army of soldiers down to his people from Heaven,

nor would We do so.

And, with a mighty blast from the sky, the DisBelievers were all eliminated.

How sad for the followers.

There did not come any Messenger, but that they made fun of him.

And, haven’t they thought about how many civilizations

 before them were destroyed, not to return to this world?

And, undoubtedly, they will all return to Us in the End.

And, We presented a sign for them from the barren earth.

We brought it to life, and brought forth grain, and from it bread to eat.

And, We set gardens with palms trees, and grapevines,

and caused the earth to burst forth with gushing springs,

that they may eat of His sustenance.

And, the people’s hands did not create these things,

so why aren’t they thankful to Him?

Exalted is He who created all species –

beginning what grows from the earth,

and beginning all of mankind, and from what they do not know.

And, the night is also a Sign for them.

We remove the Day from it, and they are left in Darkness.

And, the sun runs its due course towards its ending point.

And, this is the determination of the Most Exalted in Might, the All Knowing.

And the moon – We set phases for it, until it returns like a faithful date stalk.

And, the sun is not permitted to reach the moon,

nor will the night overcome the day,

but each is spinning in its own orbit or sphere of influence.

And, another one of God’s signs is that We guided Noah’s ark to safety.

And, We created the wood upon which they rode.

And, if We had willed to do, We could have drowned them all.

And, no one would be there to respond to their calls for help,

nor would they be rescued

except from Our Mercy, and only for a time.

But, when it is said to them, “Be careful of what deeds you put forth,

and what Righteous good deeds you neglect to do in life.

Perhaps you will be bestowed with Mercy.”

And, no Signs come to them from their Sovereign Lord God,

but that they turn away from.

And, when they are told, “Be thankful for all God has provided to you,”

And, the DisBelievers say, “Shall we provide to those who,

if God had willed to, would have provided for?

You are nothing but clearly mistaken.”

And, they say, “When is Judgment Day, if you are telling the truth?”

They will not have to wait, but for the first blast of the Horn on the Day,

that will destroy them while they arguing about it.

And, they will not be able to give any orders to anyone,

nor will they return to their people.

And, the Horn will be blown on Judgment Day; and the dead will be resurrected

from their graves, and to their Sovereign Lord God they will quickly return.

They will say, “What misery!  Who raised us up from our graves?

And, the reply will be, “This is what the Most Merciful had decreed,

and the Messengers provided the Truth.”

It will not be but one blast from the Horn, and they will all be

gathered together before Us.

And, on the Day of Judgment, no soul will be dealt with unjustly,

and you will not be rewarded except for the Righteous good deeds you did in life.

And, in reality, the Companions of the Gardens of Paradise,

will have a happy livelihood – they and their spouse,

lying under cool shade on decorated couches.

For them therein is fruit of every kind, and whatever they desire to eat.

And, their Most Merciful Lord God will welcome them, saying, “Peace.”

But, He will say to the DisBelievers, “Stand back, you are not allowed.”

Further, “Didn’t I tell you O descendants of Adam, not to worship Satan,

for he is your avowed enemy –

and that you should worship only Me? 

This is the Right Path. 

And, he had already led astray a lot of what I created,

 so why won’t you understand?

This is the Hell you were promised.

On this Day, enter to burn therein for what you rejected.”

And, on that Day, We will seal their mouths, and their hands and feet

will have to speak for them about what they did in life.

And, if We willed to, We could have removed their eyes too,

and they would run to find the path, but how could they see?

And, if We willed to, We could have collapsed them where they were standing,

so they would not be able to continue on,

nor could they return from where they came from.

And, he to whom We grant longevity, We diminish otherwise,

so will they not understand?

Nor did We give him knowledge of the Word, nor would it benefit him.

This is but a Clear Message, the Qur’an,

to warn those who are alive to the Word,

and to provide a Decree against the DisBelievers.

Do they not see what We created for them?

Grazing livestock, and they are their owners.

And, We tamed the animals for them, some of which they ride,

and some of which they eat.

And, from the animals are other benefits, as well as milk,

so why will they not be thankful?

But, they have taken false deities to worship other than Allah,

thinking they would perhaps be helped by them.

They are not able to help the people, and they

will be soldiers present against them on Judgment Day.

So, don’t let what they say against you bother you.

We know what they hide, and what they present.

Doesn’t mankind understand that We created him from a solitary sperm drop –

then, as soon as he grows and becomes self-sufficient, he becomes

defiant and an apparent enemy?

And, he presents to us an example, but then forgets his creation.

He says, “Who will give life to these bones when they are falling to pieces?”

Say, “He will give life to them who created you the first time;

and, He is Knowledgeable of all creation.”

He who made fire for you from the green tree, and then from it, you get light.

Isn’t He who created all the Heavens and the earth mighty enough

to create the likes of them?  Yes; and He is the Most Knowledgeable Creator.

We are subject to His command only.

  When He creates a thing, he says to it, “Be” and it is.

Exalted is He whose dominion is the realm of all creation,

and to Him you will all return.
